In her first album of new material since 2014, Natalie Merchant explores love in all its forms. Romantic love, but also her love of poetry, history and mythology. On the World Cafe, Merchant talks about having her passion for songwriting and music making reignited on Keep Your Courage and the surgery that nearly ended her singing career.
