Ludovico Einaudi joins host Stephen Kallao

Ludovico Einaudi is the most streamed Classical composer on Spotify. On the World Cafe, he talks about his latest album The Summer Portraits, which recalls memories of his childhood in Italy. The songs are personal – like “Rose Bay”, which he wrote in memory of his maternal grandfather, a conductor who left Italy rather than conduct the music of the Fascist regime. Einaudi will talk about that, as well as his music being used in films like Nomadland and the time he was in a short film himself – playing the piano on a small barge in the Artic.
