Host Raina Douris visits Six Bars Jail for Sense of Place Rome

The entirely volunteer run Six Bars Jail folk club sits just outside Florence, Italy. Since the club started in 2006, guitarists from all over the world – musicians like John Renbourn and Beppe Gambetta – have come to sit on the small stage in this otherwise quiet hill town. On the World Cafe, in a short side trip in the Sense of Place: Rome series, hear what makes the humble Six Bars Jail so special – from what inspired its founders to how the love of finger style guitar is now being passed down to a new generation here.
