Be-Bop Deluxe are primarily known because of their guitarist Bill Nelson, who went on to have a solo career after the band broke up.  Our Final Vinyl album from the band, Sunburst Finish, came out in 1976 and the song “Ships in the Night” was seen as the time that Nelson, who liked to put a lot of information into his songs, kind of tamed himself to make a song that could get radio play.  It became sort of a hit in the UK as a result.
