Bob Dylan once called him “the greatest songwriter alive” and Joe Strummer regarded him as a “lost genius of music”. Yet when Tim Hardin died in 1980, aged just 39, the world barely raised an eyebrow.

Today’s Final Vinyl comes from Tim Harden, who penned the often covered “If I Were a Carpenter” and “Reason to Believe”.  It’s hard to choose among his recordings, but we played “Do the Do” from Painted Head.  If you are interested in reading more about his short but intense life, there is this article from The Telegraph (where we found the above quote & picture).
