December 6, 1969 – Led Zeppelin made it’s debut on US charts at No. 4 with “Whole Lotta Love” 

The single 7″ had been release a month earlier on November 7th and include a B Side "Living Loving Maid (She’s Just a Woman).”  This release became the band’s first hit single, and was certified Gold on 13 April 1970, having sold one million copies.
