Questlove joins host Raina Douris
In the summer of ’69, there was a festival that brought together artists like Stevie Wonder, Sly & The Family Stone, and Nina Simone – but until about a year ago, so few even knew it took place – Questlove, included. When he was approached to make a film about The Harlem Cultural Festival, he had no idea what he was about to uncover…Piecing together footage and recordings packed away in a basement for decades, Questlove was able to finally shine a light on the “Black Woodstock” with his documentary, called Summer Of Soul. He joins host Raina Douris to talk about the film AND the new soundtrack.
