Haiti and New Orleans have a shared history that goes back to the turn of the 19th century – And the deep connection between these places really comes alive in the music. On a special edition of the World Cafe, we’ll hear the new radio documentary, called “Kanaval: Haitian Rhythms and the Music of New Orleans.” Hosted by Leyla McCalla of the Carolina Chocolate Drops, it’s a deep dive into music, culture, and identity.
