Don Vappie joins host Gwen Thompkins in New Orleans

Don Vappie grew up in the ‘60s and ‘70s playing string instruments in funk bands, and somewhere along the way, he reached for a banjo. He went on to become a noted interpreter of the music of New Orleans…The Crescent City’s old red-light district inspired his latest record, The Blue Book of Storyville. Don talks about the making of the album with New Orleans correspondent, Gwen Thompkins, today and performs live.
