World Cafe Playlist for 06/09/2021
Valerie June joins Nashville correspondent Jessie Scott
It’s been a big year for Valerie June. Not only has the singer-songwriter released a new album, The Moon and Stars: Prescriptions for Dreamers, but she’s also published her first book of poetry. Both deal with similar themes and seek to inspire you –– As Valerie puts it, she sees her songs as containing “prescriptions” to aid those listening. We’ll hear more about that, and how living near two major music cities, Nashville and Memphis, impacted Valerie musically. Plus, she performs some of the new music, live.
