Encore: Rhiannon Giddens joins host Talia Schlanger

Since her days with the Carolina Chocolate Drops, Rhiannon Giddens has explored many rich collaborations – From writing a ballet, to performing in a Celtic ensemble. Much of her profound work has been rooted in her love of African-American folk traditions, including her latest, called There Is No Other. She’s joined by jazz musician Francesco Turrisi, who is an expert on the influence of Arabic music on what is considered European art. Together, their new record illuminates music history. We’ll hear their fascinating conversation with host Talia Schlanger, plus a live performance.
