War joins host Stephen Kallao
War is hard to define. The band from Long Beach, California is equal parts funk, soul, Latin rock, jazz and much more. That unique sound helped them reach the top of the charts 50 years ago with their blockbuster album The World Is a Ghetto. On the World Cafe, founding member Lonnie Jordan and producer Jerry Goldstein join us to talk about making that iconic album, plus War performs some of their greatest hits live.
