Six years ago, Philadelphia artist Shamir was poised to be the next big pop star. With the success of his song “On the Regular,” doors were opened to him, including the chance to play arenas. But pop-stardom wasn’t his dream. Today, we’ll hear about the years that followed that pop success – exploring various musical directions – and how it all led to his new self-titled album, ranging from pop, to grunge, to country. And Shamir performs some of the new music live.
