Black Opry Revue joins host Raina Douris
Black musicians have always been integral to country, folk, blues, and Americana music – in many cases, it was Black musicians who were doing it first. But the music industry has a long history of not supporting them. In response, a group of Black artists recently created a space of their OWN in the country and Americana world – The Black Opry began as a website, and the Black Opry Revue is its live extension, showcasing a rotating lineup of the collective’s members on tour. Five of them join host Raina Douris in the studio for a conversation and song circle performance.
