Amythyst Kiah mini-concert with host Stephen Kallao

Amythyst Kiah made a name for herself, along with Rhiannon Giddens and Leyla McCalla, as part of the group Our Native Daughters. Then, her debut solo album Wary + Strange, with its unusual combination of roots influences and alternative sounds, introduced the Grammy-nominated song, “Black Myself.” Amythyst performs that one live, along with a handful of fun covers, including Tori Amos’ “Sugar.” That’s coming up, on a special edition of the World Cafe recorded live at the National Museum of African American Music in Nashville.
