World Cafe 30th Anniversary show with host Raina Douris
World Cafe has spent the last 30 weeks revisiting the show’s greatest musical guests over the course of three decades on the air. For the final anniversary archive dive, we’ll hear from two icons – Lou Reed changed rock music, and he remains an enigma even now, nearly a decade after his death. The Velvet Underground frontman talks about the merits of vinyl, and their classic song, “Sweet Jane,” which he didn’t think would become an anthem. Then, Al Green – The soul legend shares the story of how he found his own voice during the recording of “Let’s Stay Together.” All that, and the 30 Under 30 list is completed.
